Recouture is an experimental sneaker repair and restoration shop in Tokyo, founded by Shun Hirose. Refurbishing popular sneaker designs with outsoles and tooling from traditional shoe constructions, as well as customizing sneakers with new panelling and stylistic touches, Hirose is at the forefront of a new wave of sneaker customization and upcycling, exemplified by his recent work with adidas’ makerlab project, in which he created 333 pairs of Campus ’80s that sold out instantly.
Colliding burgundy, navy and grey palettes across a single upper, a follow-up ‘correction’ release offers more traditional black and white colourways of the Campus ’80s, constructed to Hirose’s strict standards of quality and detail.
